Football hooligans: Zürich supporters clash with police in Lucerne

Zürich hooligans clash with security and police due to slow access queue

FC Zürich was in town for a Swiss Super League showdown with Luzern.  The match ended with a 1-1 draw.

I’ll admit, I don’t know the slightest thing about the Swiss Super League.  I’ve never managed a Swiss club on Football Manager, and I don’t think I’ve even faced one in continental competition before.  That said, I admire the tenacity of these fans.  There is no way that this fight could have ended in victory for the away team, but by God they just kept on coming.  It didn’t matter if they were getting blasted with the firehose, pepper-sprayed, or tear-gassed, these folks wanted timely access to the stadium, and they weren’t quitting until they their demands were heard.

Following the match, Zürich supporters were escorted from the stadium to the train station.  The draw didn’t seem to satiate their lust for shenanigans, though, so they engaged in a spirited game of throwing rocks at cops while they waited for the train home.
