IF Sylvia leases Nya Parken from IFK Norrköping.


IF Sylvia was founded in Norrköping in 1922.  They have  played in the Swedish lower divisions for the entirety of their history.  Between 1998 & 2003 the club played in Superettan, Sweden’s second level.  The club returned to Superettan in 2007, but they were relegated, this time after only one season.  In 2015 IF Sylvia was relegated from the third level to their current fourth level position.


Swedish Football Division 2 is the fourth level of the football pyramid in Sweden.  It is comprised of 84 clubs divided into six groups of twelve.  The names of the groups change from time-to-time as the league’s membership & geography changes.  As of the 2016/2017 season, the six groups are: Norrland, Norra Svealand, Södra Svealand, Norra Götaland, Södra Götaland, & Västra Götaland.

The winner of each Division 2 group is promoted to the Swedish Football Division 1.  The three lowest placed teams in each group are relegated to Swedish Football Division 3.Soccerball_Sweden
